Green Ideas
Neu Nectar is an environmentally-conscious company. The way a company does business can have a significant impact on the planet. At Neu Nectar we are mindful of how we impact the world around us—we support design initiatives and practices that champion sustainable innovation. It is our belief that we need to do all we can to be responsible stewards of the earth and so when we take a look at the bottom line, it’s green.
These are just a few ideas and ways that we are trying to make a difference.
-
Recycle
Minimal paper waste and the use of electronic office systems. We recycle everything possible.
-
Buy Locally
We buy locally and support independently owned businesses. Local businesses produce more income, jobs, and tax receipts for their communities than big box stores do. Most importantly, supporting local businesses preserves the economic diversity of our communities and the unique character of our neighborhoods.
-
Save Energy
Lighting in our office has been changed from standard light bulbs to compact fluorescent bulbs. CFLs use less energy and last up to five times as long as regular bulbs.
-
Buy Green
Some paper use can't be avoided, so when we have to use paper, we use recycled paper, envelopes and boxes that have been processed and colored using eco-friendly methods. We also use biodegradable soaps and non-toxic, biodegradable, natural cleaner cleaning supplies.
-
Commute
We bike whenever we can, and encourage alternative work schedules and remote working.
-
Save Water
We encourage everyone to use filtered water and reusable water containers, Simply put, we avoid bottled water at all costs. Bottled water just fills our landfills and is not necessarily cleaner than filtered tap water. However, there is one bottle of water worth buying. But it costs $20
-
Free Trade & Fair Trade
We believe that a healthy and sustainable food system depends on respect for the workers, animals and the environment. By supporting Free and Fair trade we are demanding that workers are treated fairly and our environment is respected.
-
Eat Organic
Eating organic food is important to us, as is buying locally. Organic foods are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically engineered ingredients.
For the Planet! Organic Farming helps keep air, water, and soil clean by not using synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
